Alex Doppelgänger (the pseudonym of Alexandru Bogdan) was born in 1989 in Giurgiu, Romania. He graduated in 2011 from the Faculty of Foreign Languages at the University of Bucharest, specializing in Chinese. In 2013, motivated by the growing wave of pseudoscience and scientific illiteracy in Romania, he created the blog alexdoppelganger.com. The goal of the blog was to educate the general public in a fun and accessible way, blending elementary scientific concepts with stories and anecdotes. Through his work, he aims to bring science closer to people and demonstrate that it can be easily understood with critical thinking and basic knowledge.
Alex has published two books: “Cum se face un Univers?” (2016), focusing on astronomy, and “Atomi și microunde. Cum știm ce știm” (2017), which deals with physics and chemistry. His approach combines educational content with a light-hearted narrative to engage readers in understanding complex topics.
