Eddie Jaku was born in Germany in 1920 under the name Abraham Jakubowicz. During World War II, he was deported to the Buchenwald and Auschwitz concentration camps, where he endured unimaginable suffering. Despite losing most of his family to the Holocaust, Eddie survived and later emigrated to Australia in 1950, where he lived with his wife and family. He dedicated his life to sharing his experiences and advocating for peace, love, and humanity.
In 2020, at the age of 100, Jaku published his memoir, The Happiest Man on Earth, which chronicles his life’s journey, emphasizing the power of resilience, hope, and the choice to live with happiness despite adversity. He passed away in 2021 at the age of 101, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and strength.
